At Home in Ontario
Known for its pioneering and entrepreneurial spirit, Ontario is a thriving city of more than 150,000 that still embraces the small-town values. The city’s burgeoning business climate is enriched by convenient transportation corridors, an international airport and a state-of-the-art convention center. And, when it’s time for fun, local residents have plenty to choose from.
There’s something for everyone at Ontario
Mills Mall, Southern California’s largest
outlet shopping mall and entertainment center. In addition
to more than 200 of the best names in retail, Ontario
Mills offers a 30-theater cinema complex, the Improv
Comedy Club and a variety of restaurants and take-out
establishments to suit every palate.
Ontario encompasses 300 acres of parks, encouraging
family-oriented sports and recreation year-round. Popular
destinations include Cucamonga-Guasti
Regional Park, offering swimming, fishing, boating,
a water slide and group picnic areas; John Galvin Park,
with its 2,500-seat baseball stadium; the hiking, bicycling
and equestrian trails of West Cucamonga Creek Trails;
and Westwind Park, with its lighted Little League, softball
and soccer fields. Also close to home for Rivercrest
residents will be the Arnold Palmer-designed Empire
Lakes Golf Course, the California Speedway, local
wineries and the Ontario Museum of History and Art.
Rivercrest residents will be served by the Chino
Valley Joint Unified School District and Chino Valley School District. Nearby opportunities
for higher education are many, including Chaffey
Community College, California
State University at San Bernardino and the University
of California at Riverside.
Founded in the 1880s, Ontario
is a city committed to providing recreational, educational
and cultural opportunities for all residents. The city
has a number of community centers, including one reserved
especially for teens, and will proudly open its newly
renovated and expanded public library in the summer
of 2005. Each year, hundreds of dedicated volunteers
contribute their time to the city’s annual Tournament
of Roses Parade float – just one more example
of Ontario’s civic pride and a true sense of community.
